Love this book...making a rap with Science Content "Photosynthesis"....so fun and the kids will have something to attach their learning to! Everyone loves a good lyric!!! Courtney Slayton-Rohe
I absolutely adore this book! It was the 'spring-board' for the unit on Creating A Food Chain Rap in music class! The discussion in my fifth grade classes was good about the use of lyrics and how important it will be to have clear vocabulary for our special Science rap! This book helped to inspire my students as we began this group project!
My kids ask to read this book whenever we have a spare moment. I let them listen to the song before we read the poem, then we read the poem and they listen to the song again. The second time they hear it, they really understand what the song is talking about.

I thought this was a really cute book. I think students like to connect thier learning to something and making a rap helps a lot.

ReplyDeleteCute book! It's fun to make up little songs or raps to teach different things. I bet the kids really enjoy the audio of this book.
ReplyDeleteMy students really enjoyed the songs. I played one song every day when we would return from recess. It was a great transition.
